Shopify automatically does many things that developers would regularly charge a high price to do for you.

- e.g. Abandoned Cart Recovery. Shopify offers an abandoned checkout cart recovery service which automatically tracks and emails potential customers to remind them to complete their purchase.

- e.g. Intuitive Customizer. Shopify makes it possible for developers to add code which allows the merchant to change elements themselves, without having to hire someone when they want it changed again. This is especially useful since search engines, like google, tend to send users to a site that is updated more frequently.

- e.g. Security & Support. Shopify hosts the site on its own servers. So all Shopify sites are automatically HTTPS encrypted, and any spikes in traffic to the site are easily accommodated. They also provide 24/7 support.

plus much more.

I don't develop apps because Shopify already has so many excellent third party apps to fit merchants' needs. Integrating those apps to achieve the desired result is too quick and cost-effective to justify reinventing the wheel at the merchant's expense.

The specifics of the project determines this, but I can say that eCommerce web development is not a side job for me. I'm passionate about it, and do it full time. So I will be getting things done asap.
